Ephesians 3. Forum Discussion

Paul covers a lot of ground in the third chapter of Ephesians. In verse 2 he explains how he was given grace from God and insight into the mystery of Christ. Paul explains how the mystery of Christ has been revealed to Jesus’ holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit. Paul refers to himself as, “The very least of all saints”, and explains how he was given grace to preach to the gentiles, “The unfathomable riches of Christ.”

Beginning in verse 14, Paul prays that they would be strengthened, “So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Paul points out that Jesus, “Is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think.” That’s a powerful statement. When we understand all that He can do for us, why do we sometimes put our faith in the things of this earth instead of in Him. As Jesus said to his disciples in Mathew 40-41, “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?”  “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” “Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8.

Knowing all this, we must always remain vigilant in our prayers and our studies to stay close to God. I pray that our study of God’s inspired Word will lead to stronger faith throughout the world and an increased confidence and desire to put our faith into action, all to the glory of God. - Amen
